…a page dedicated to my crafts, theatre, festivals, shows, and people.
Hello,
I am Michael Hundevad
I live in Minneapolis. I grew up doing theatre while I worked as a carpenter. Two years at Moorhead State I quit, packed up, and ran away to join a circus in Toftlund, Denmark. I stayed in Denmark performing stand up and working shops, warehouses, and labor wherever I could. I moved back when I got accepted at the UMN (Twin Cities) but it wasn’t for me. Wandering about I ended employed as a Ballroom Dance Instructor in Minneapolis. Sticking to that mindset has gotten me to interesting places, but I wanted to go back to school for theatre, and I found Normandale Community College. I graduated in Scenic Design finally blending my passion for theatre with my genius in woodworking and design. Wanting to finish a bachelors in order to maybe pursue a masters, but thwarted by the pandemic, I settled for online schooling at, ironically, the UMN (Crookston). Here, I have found my joy and intellectual stimulus again with writing and storytelling. I graduated with a Bachelor of Science in English Literature and Creative Writing. Currently teaching English, I still build sets, props, and the occasional remodeling project. I also teach and perform acrobatics, dance, and theatre in the Twin Cities and beyond.
